CSIR, UBA-IIT Delhi, Vijnana Bharati sign a tripartite MoU to adopt CSIR technologies for rural development

31 July 2020 Current Affairs:Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR), Unnat Bharat Abhiyan-Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi (UBA-IITD), and Vijnana Bharati (VIBHA) has signed a tripartite Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in New Delhi. Under the MoU, it is expected to lay the foundation for cooperation and joint action in the area of UBA for rural development of India. 

Highlights:
♦ The MoU aims to provide access to CSIR rural technologies for Unnat Bharat Abhiyan (UBA).
♦ It is expected that the adoption of CSIR technologies and related knowledge base are in tune with the people’s aspirations in furtherance of initiatives such as UBA and VIBHA.
♦ UBA is a national program that functions under the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) envisioning the transformational change in rural development processes by leveraging knowledge institutions to help build the architecture of an inclusive India.
♦ The MoU is needed as an adequate structural network is essential for effective implementation of UBA nationwide. 
♦ The MoU will enhance collaboration among the concerned ministries, district administration, local Panchayat Raj Institutes (PRIs), voluntary organizations, other stakeholders, and participating institutions in Unnat Bharat Abhiyan.
♦ The MoU will pave the way for effective coordination between CSIR, IIT Delhi, and Vijnana Bharati (Vibha) towards meeting the objectives of the Unnat Bharat Abhiyan.
